Quiet Comtemplation

So the weekend is here.

It's a great time to slow down and smell the roses so to speak. We have all heard the term "stop and smell the roses, but what does that really mean? My view of this is taking the time to do the things you love to do.

With all that has been going on here, there has not been much time to just relax.

We were lucky here in Boston but no so for those in New York. I know we all like to think it will never happen to us but the fact is it does happen anywhere and anytime.

I have friends in New York as I am sure many people do.
It is close to home and it is real.

Even the NYC Marathon has been cancelled, this has not happened in the 42 year history of the race.
I personally have a friend who has trained so hard to be in this event but decided not to run just before it was cancelled.

This taken from USA TODAY
"While holding the race would not require diverting resources from the recovery effort, it is clear that it has become the source of controversy and division," Bloomberg and Mary Wittenberg, the president of the New York Road Runners, said in a joint statement.

"The marathon has always brought our city together and inspired us with stories of courage and determination. We would not want a cloud to hang over the race or its participants, and so we have decided to cancel it. We cannot allow a controversy over an athletic event – even one as meaningful as this – to distract attention away from all the critically important work that is being done to recover from the storm and get our city back on track."

Serious times when an event of that size need to be cancelled .
I truly feel for all the victims of the storm, what they have had to face is tragic so please keep them in your prayers and do what ever you can to help.

Even in time as this we do need to quietly contemplate life in what ever way we do that.
What is it you like to do to find that special place where you can be at peace?

I have many different things I like to do. I would consider myself some what of an adventurer so this could include windsurfing or a ride on a motorcycle. I also like a quiet walk along the beach or climbing a mountain. Sometimes just sitting quietly in my favorite park.

Go to your place of quiet contemplation as much as you can, you will be amazed at how much more productive you are when you have had time to rest and think.

Enjoy Life,

Dave
