What is important

Stop for a moment to think about the things that are important to you.

What is the picture that comes to mind?

Now ask yourself. Why do I think these things are important?

If we are really honest with ourselves, we will find we don't know why for the very simple reason that these things are not really important to us at all.
You see it may have nothing to do with you. All the things we think are important may just be important to our parents or the close friends we spend most of our time with.

The real issue here is your strength of character and how deep do your convictions lay on what you
(I MEAN THE REAL YOU) believe in.

When you are the one who has true deep convictions, you will be the one leading the way. If however you don't really know what you believe, then you will be easily swayed by what others believe.

This is the position that most people are in. Not knowing what they want and even more tragic, not knowing what they believe in.

If you have no idea where to start on the journey to finding your true beliefs then I suggest you think back to your childhood days.
  • What were the things you liked?
  • What were the things you dreamed of?
  • What were the things that were most fun?
  • What did you want to be?
There is a lot to think about there, so I will leave it at that for now.

Until next time,
Enjoy your life.

The Big Storm

The link below is some footage from New York City of the damage done.

It is at times like this, we realize what is important to us.
All of us tend to stress about the small things in life that somehow we like to make so big.
Like a job or career. If you are in a potentially dangerous situation the first people you will phone are your loved ones.

Who in their right mind would phone work?

Yet we put so much time & energy into our careers. I know it is important to work and take our responsibilities seriously. When it does come to crunch time none of that matters.
suddenly it is all about family, good friends, the people we treasure.

I hope all your friends and family are safe.

Let this be a reminder to us all what really matters in our lives.

Be Strong,
Enjoy the live you have.

Travel with me

The road is long & hard for most of us, but it is worth it.

Earlier this year a challenge was put to me to start something that is way bigger than me, it is also something I know nothing about.

I decided to take up the challenge & embark on a journey that is scary yet exhilarating.

I want you to think for a moment. What is something that scares you, yet somehow you just know you were born for that very reason?

Is there a dream or passion that you had as a child but have let go of?

Anyway enough questions for now.

As I take up my challenge there have been sleepless nights & fears that I have never faced before.
I have found that as I face the fears, they disappear very quickly.
I have always had a great fear of public speaking. Don't get me wrong, I love talking to people one on one, but having to stand up in front of even a small group makes my legs go weak.

The thing I have noticed is each time I get up it gets a little easier. Sure there is still fear but it gets a little less each time.

I will continue to do this until the fear has gone altogether.

Join with me on this journey & I would love to know what you journey is also.

Keep going
Dave.
